Background:
James was born in London to a moderately well-off human family who immigrated from India two generations ago. He had a happy childhood and while his family encouraged him to make English friends, went to India for family reunions regularly. James had always been studious and wanted to make his parents proud by attending a good university. Originally he wanted to go to school in India, but his parents insisted on an English school. So, with no small degree of effort, he attended Oxford University.

While there he started dating a TA who had an inactivated werewolf curse. After she was involved in a car accident which sadly killed a pedestrian, James went to comfort her that very night. Unfortunately it was the night of her first full moon. James was accidentally bitten and locked himself in her bathroom to avoid being outright killed. He found a gun (of all things) behind the toilet, and as she broke down the door, shot and killed her in self-defense and activated his own curse that very night.

The pack she belonged to decided to be kind to him, and instead of killing him in response to one of their own being killed - took him in. Unfortunately that came with the scruple that he would be replacing a valued member of the pack, as his now deceased girlfriend was a born werewolf and would have been of some importance. As he finished school being integrated into a pack that didn't quite care for him, he took it upon himself to use his law degree to protect the pack publicly. If he was going to be of use, he'd make himself invaluable.

Over the years James advanced slightly in rank, enough to be considered more of an asset than a liability. As a result, he has become progressively more and more involved in the politics of London, to the point of ambition for himself. James wanted to not just be needed, but important.

Without his pack's explicit permission (or knowledge) James began to contact packs outside of London in the interest of his own 'career'. He contacted the Munster pack in Southern Ireland, and through a series of talks with the Alpha - volunteered himself to be married to the Munster Alpha's daughter, Sofia Hughes aka "Skip", who was currently studying in London. Her father agreed on the stipulation that he would become noteworthy enough in his own pack to be considered for the honor. How exactly he would do that, was up to him.

Personality:
James might be considered quite the slime-ball at first glance. And you would be kind of right. But said slime-ball-ness has been born out of a want to please his pack. He's always been so eager to please and impress people. His family, his teachers, his pack. He's developed learned behaviors in the name of doing right by his pack-mates. James couldn't tell you if he was actually always so manipulative, but what he can tell you is that he's bloody good at it. James adjusts his attitude and 'charm' based on who he's interacting with. He can come off as a spineless coward and a terrifying opponent in the same hour. Though he thinks too much about continuity with the people he interacts with, and if he has been identified as an asshole or a sweetheart by a single person he will continue that persona.

As a result of his typical falsities with people, James has lost his grip what he identifies as his personality traits. He holds people at arms-length to avoid them learning of what he deems to be a real and serious fault, and comes off as aloof and serious because of it. He loses himself in his work, which is to make sure the pack is taken care of in all legal realms. Taking time away from it makes him anxious and irritable. As a result of his workaholic tendencies and his tendency to avoid getting close to anyone, James is lonely, but he won't make that known of his own free will. He has people who certainly count themselves as his friends, but James himself does not.

James prides himself on his restraint - something that he has had to acquire over the years due to the enhanced temper being a werewolf seems to provide. That isn't to say he doesn't lose his cool, but he tries very hard to not do so over trivial matters.

Every behavior of James' can be traced back to one single motivation: Ambition. James wants to be important, to be someone who is recognized in the supernatural community - if he had not been bitten, he would consider himself the same in the human world of London. He alternates between thinking being bitten is the best or the worst thing to ever happen to him. He still feels a great deal of guilt over the circumstances of his first turn, but if anything that only motivates him more to do well.

He doesn't regard vampires in any high esteem - he believes and follow werewolf prejudice about their kind just as well as any other loyal wolf might. Witches are useful, and he wants to make friends where he can there. Everything and everyone else doesn't matter on his radar - as of now.

James has all the typical strength and abilities as an experienced beta might. He also owns a piece of Moonlight Jewelry that was gifted to him from a Munster pack witch.

A law firm located in the heart of Redbridge borough, originated as a supernatural haven for those who were in contention with the mortal law in London itself. Now it primarily deals in cases for the East End pack and other werewolf packs in the area, but will still deal in minor cases with all species. Vampires included.
